Summer Events:

Turnless Tuesdays at Walden Pond (organized by Mark Goldman)

When the Weather's warming up and the New England spring makes its about-face into torrid summer heat, are you looking for an escape? Then come join a season of Turnless Tuesday swims at Walden pond!

Turnless Tuesdays are a chance to get out from the city and enjoy the serenity and beauty of Thoreau's famous Walden Pond. They are not a Cambridge Masters event and any and all are welcome. Attendees range from die-hard open water swimmers who consider pond swims to be a "short sprint workout", to noncompetitive swimmers who enjoy a cool dip in the idyllic setting, to frolickers who enjoy the chance to splash around (and splash others). We also at summer's end make a special outing to Woods Hole, Cape Cod to view the bioluminescent waters there and the glowing (but non-stinging) jelly fish.

The swim schedule is every Tuesday, rain or shine. We form carpools out to the pond, departing from various Boston area locations around 6pm and meeting in front of the Walden guardhouse at 6:40pm.

CMSC holds a Holiday gathering at a local pub during the middle of December. Food and beverages are consumed prior to CMSC members opening gifts from a volunteer gift swap. This gathering has been known to start after an evening workout and continue until the next morning.
