Stephanie
Morawski - CMSC Director
Stephanie is the Director of the Cambridge Masters Swim Club and is in her 13th year as Head Coach of Harvard Women's Swimming <http://www.gocrimson.com>.
The 2008-2009 Harvard team won both the Ivy League Championships and ECAC Championships in the same weekend. Individual awards included 2 NCAA qualifiers, 12 school records, a 25th place ranking in the country and six NCAA Academic All-Americans.
A Harvard graduate, Stephanie earned All-American honors and qualified for Olympic Trials in 1988 and 1992 in the 200 breaststroke. Since joining US Masters swimming, Stephanie was a USMS All-American. Stephanie received her undergraduate degree in economics from Harvard and earned a Master's degree at Harvard's Graduate School of Education.
Abe Rogers - Head Coach
On Assignment in Afghanistan until Augut 2011
A graduate of Colby College, Abe became a professional triathlete upon graduation and competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials. More recently, Abe was the Head Coach at BU Masters for over two years before enlisting in the Army where he has spent the past three years serving our country.
Scott McInerney-Assistant Coach
Scott is a recent graduate of Oberlin College with a degree in Psychology. As a four year varsity letterer, he claimed both the MVP and Most Improved award his senior year. Scott is also a 3-time NCAA Division III provisional qualifier, an NCAA Academic All-American Honorable Mention, and a current record-holder in four events at his alma mater. More recently, Scott has set multiple New England and National Masters records in addition to receiving silver and bronze at the 2010 SCY Masters National Championships. With 9 years of competitive swimming experience, he brings his sprint and butterfly expertise to the team emphasizing the importance of technique in building stroke efficiency. Scott is currently completing psychology research at the National Center for PTSD and soon hopes to enter graduate school to complete his PhD in Behavioral Economics.
Sarah Mooney-Assistant Coach
Sarah Mooney is a graduate of Old Dominion University where she swam for four years and was the team MVP in 2003. Sarah is originally from Rhode Island and was the Rhode Island High School swimmer of the year in 1999. In April 2005, in her first masters swim meet, Sarah won the female high point award at the New England Masters Short Course championship. Prior to joining Cambridge Masters, Sarah was an assistant coach with Providence Aquatic Club. She is currently pursuing her Master of Architecture at the Boston Architectural College.
Lauren Nickerson-Assistant Coach
Lauren grew up swimming age group in Massachusetts for the YMCA of the North Shore Sharks and continued her swimming and played water polo at the University of Hawaii. Most recently, Lauren was the head swim coach at an independent high school in Hawaii. She is also passionate about open water swimming, having competed in several races in Hawaii, but is nervous about diving in to the cold Atlantic waters. Lauren will be a student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education during the 2009-2010 season.
Samantha Pitter - Assistant Coach
Sam is a recent graduate of Hamilton College where she swam for four years and is a current record holder. Sam also works for MIT as an Assistant Coach for the Men's and Women's Varsity Swimming and Diving Team and will be entering graduate school at Boston University in the fall, working towards her Masters in Physical Education with a specialization in Coaching.
